The Service Lead for Universal Maternal and Child Health Programs will oversee the delivery of effective programs and partnerships. This role ensures we meet high community standards through guidance, leadership, and efficient systems.
This position works closely with the team to achieve professional practice standards, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate with other leaders across the unit.
The Service Lead supports the team through change, monitors best practice standards, and delivers exceptional experiences for families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and coordinate the Universal MCH Service and other programs.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to MCH Nurses across the service and wider team.
- Monitor and improve administrative systems for efficient, accessible, and equitable service delivery.
- Demand a collaborative team culture, encouraging shared planning, decision-making, and objectives achievement.
- Ensure services are evidence-based, community-focused, and aligned with MCH guidelines and legislative requirements.
- BUILD partnerships that enhance family-centred and integrated service delivery.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Mandatory qualifications to practice as a MCH Nurse in Victoria, as outlined in the Position Description –
- Current registration with AHPRA: Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Registered Midwife, and;
- Accredited postgraduate Diploma/Degree (or equivalent) in Child and Family Health Nursing
We seek applicants with experience in planning, leadership, and delivery of MCH services, including program and service coordination. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and funding guidelines is essential. Experience in financial management, business planning, and service monitoring is also required.
High-level communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for building strong relationships and engaging families effectively. Understanding of integrated service delivery, community development, and family-centred practice is preferred. Experience in policy implementation and responding to local community needs is an asset.
