Job Title: Supportive Guidance Specialist

This role facilitates the ParentsNext program, a government initiative designed to empower eligible parents to plan and prepare for employment by the time their children commence schooling. The program operates in all non-remote areas of Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Empower customers by assisting them in identifying individual education and employment objectives
  • Provide career guidance and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities
  • Collaborate with clients to establish education and employment goals, develop a pathway plan, and connect them to services and activities within the community
  • Engage with the local community to foster relationships and coordinate referrals to community agencies
  • Support customers in applying for jobs, developing and tailoring CVs, preparing for interviews, understanding employer expectations, and enhancing employability skills
About This Opportunity:
  • Able to build effective relationships within the community
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organisational skills, and commitment to customer service
  • Empathetic approach with ability to build trust and rapport
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People or Children Check (or equivalent)
  • Hold a current driver's licence
