Staff Specialist Job Description

The Staff Specialist will provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a high standard of professional performance and encourage an academic environment that supports research and development.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to clinicians, patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
Selection Criteria:
  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Laboratory Haematology and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Clinical Haematology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
