Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist IC of Section Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist In Charge – Special Chemistry to lead our team on a Permanent Full Time basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee the operation of the Special Chemistry section, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services in support of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing scientific, technical and support staff, all testing and associated activities and logistics for the assigned laboratory.
  • Oversight of the quality, cost and operational integrity of the department, regulatory compliance and accreditation of laboratory services in the department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards and quality systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems including supervision of e-based Quality Management Systems.
  • Extensive high level knowledge of working within the relevant section of the laboratory with knowledge of the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment in a pathology laboratory.
