Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Snr Hospital Scientist I/C of Section Remuneration: $112,409.34 - $119,173.77 per annum plus superannuation Hours Per Week: 38 Location: Liverpool Hospital Applications Close: 7 September 2025 - 11:59pm About The Opportunity An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate and experienced Microbiology Scientist to join the NSW Health Pathology Microbiology and Serology Department at Liverpool Hospital.
We are seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist for a permanent full-time position in a state-of-the-art pathology laboratory equipped with automation technologies.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a customer-focused approach, attention to detail, experience in documentation and report writing, organizational and managerial abilities, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and teaching skills are essential.
You will be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality diagnostic services to South Western Sydney Local Health District.

Qualifications Bachelor Degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, relevant to pathology.
Customer-focused with strong interpersonal, communication, report writing, and data evaluation skills.
Knowledge of NSW and Australian accreditation standards and quality systems.
Management experience in laboratory operations, administration, and budgeting.
Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems and Quality Management Systems.
Extensive knowledge of laboratory operations and equipment maintenance.
Understanding of legislation, policies, and safety requirements.
