Senior Associate, Corporate Energy and Infrastructure Specialist

The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Band 1 Corporate Energy and Infrastructure team, based in Sydney. In this role, you will work closely with market-leading partners and the broader team of specialists across the national practice.
You will have the opportunity to work on 'first-in-market' projects and with clients, both in Australia and internationally, who are at the forefront of the energy transition and private capital in the infrastructure sector.
You will undertake a range of work supporting national and international clients, including advising on mergers & acquisitions, project development, joint ventures, policy & regulation, and complex commercial contracting in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
The team has been involved in many of the largest infrastructure transactions in Australia, across airports, ports, roads, rail, digital, energy, and social infrastructure. The team is also at the forefront of significant changes occurring in the Australian energy sector, including the establishment of renewable energy zones, interconnector development, and offshore wind and hydrogen projects.
Our clients include governments and regulators, infrastructure and superannuation funds, trading houses, leading energy companies, and energy project developers.
What You Will Bring- Demonstrable experience across M&A, project development, policy and regulation, and complex commercial contracting, ideally within the energy and infrastructure sector.
- An excellent academic record, with the ability to apply technical legal knowledge in a commercial environment.
- First-class attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to comprehend intricate legal matters and manage large-scale transactions.
- A proactive approach and a desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team.
- A keen interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a hunger to learn, develop, and contribute to a market-leading practice.
