We are a leading international law firm with a global team of over 5,000 professionals. Our market-leading Corporate Energy and Infrastructure team is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Sydney office.
As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with our market-leading partners and a broader team of specialists across the national practice. You will have the opportunity to work on 'first-in-market' projects and with clients who are at the forefront of the energy transition and private capital in the infrastructure sector.
Our team has been involved in many of the largest infrastructure transactions in Australia, across airports, ports, roads, rail, digital, energy, and social infrastructure. We are at the forefront of significant changes occurring in the Australian energy sector, including the establishment of renewable energy zones, interconnector development, and offshore wind and hydrogen projects.
Our clients include governments and regulators, infrastructure and superannuation funds, trading houses, leading energy companies, and energy project developers. You will have the opportunity to work with clients on transactions and projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support national and international clients on mergers & acquisitions, project development, joint ventures, policy & regulation, and complex commercial contracting in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Work closely with market-leading partners and a broader team of specialists across the national practice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of the team's strategy and growth.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience across M&A, project development, policy and regulation, and complex commercial contracting, ideally within the energy and infrastructure sector.
- An excellent academic record, with the ability to apply technical legal knowledge in a commercial environment.
- First-class attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to comprehend intricate legal matters and manage large-scale transactions.
- A proactive approach and a desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team.
