Clinical Support Officer

As a member of our team, the Clinical Support Officer plays a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality clinical services. They are responsible for providing administrative support to the Nursing Unit Manager by undertaking tasks relevant to ensuring the smooth operation of the ward/unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The incumbent will be responsible for workforce matters including rostering, replacement of staff, and expected/unexpected leave coverage.
  • Liaising with Human Resources and Payroll to clarify pay and leave enquiries is also a key aspect of this role.
  • Tasks as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager to support the recruitment of staff to the ward/unit.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for administrative activities related to the management of performance reviews for nursing staff.
  • Producing reports on finance and quality parameters/indicators is an essential function of this role.
  • Maintain the Nurse Unit Manager's Outlook Calendar and schedule appointments/meetings as required.
  • The Clinical Support Officer will also be involved in supporting and participating in the administrative aspects of quality accreditation processes and incident management.
  • Maintaining staff credentialing, registration, and monitoring mandatory training register is another critical task associated with this role.
  • Stores purchasing and reconciling of invoices received.
About You:
  • A Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent is highly desirable for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing efficient administrative support with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and professionally with people at all levels.
  • Experience with rostering and leave management is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in word processing, excel spreadsheet data entry, and specialty IT programs as required.
