Clinical Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as a Clinical Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a high-performing, evidence-based safe and effective acute medicine service.
The Clinical Services Manager will operationalise strategic plans and department direction within the acute medical ward, including providing operational input into the development of these plans. Additionally, the manager is accountable for the efficient and effective management of the acute medical ward and the integration of nursing practices within Calvary Mater Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership for clinical acute medical services within the hospital, promoting an integrated service within Calvary Mater Newcastle (Nursing Services).
- Coordinate and perform the acute medical ward in conjunction with the operations manager to ensure service provision, patient assessment, care planning, care coordination, and continuing management in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
- Participate in and facilitate the promotion of research and evidence-based care as appropriate.
- Engage in relevant clinical network and stream activities, providing professional leadership for nursing acute medical services within CMN.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A registered nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant postgraduate management qualifications or experience, or working towards.
- Nursing unit management or in-charge experience in an acute/subacute facility and/or ambulatory setting and ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to improving healthcare through quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based care.
