Payroll Specialist Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable payroll specialist to manage payroll processes related to workers’ compensation.

This role involves managing and processing payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and benefits. The successful candidate will also be responsible for calculating and reporting PIAWE (Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings) for injured employees as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees.
  • PIAWE Calculations: Calculate and report PIAWE for injured employees, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission of reports to stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Stay updated on workers’ compensation laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Communication and Support: Serve as a point of contact for payroll and workers’ compensation enquiries, providing training and support to team members on policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of self-insured workers' compensation programs and PIAWE calculations is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
