Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead our approach to providing quality care to community clients of the Palliative Care Service. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing evidence-based, clinically sound, and holistic patient care in partnership with clients and their families and other health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a professional role model and clinical leader, demonstrating high-level capacity for patient advocacy and working independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assist the inpatient Clinical Nurse Navigator to triage referrals, manage waitlists, and lead multidisciplinary meetings, while collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the philosophy, mission, and values of NSW Government and St Vincent's Health Australia.
  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency and hold a current NSW driver's licence (Class C or above).
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team at a senior level, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize competing workloads within a complex environment.
