Modelling and Visualisation Role

We are seeking a skilled Analyst to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative urban planning solutions.

This exciting role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and deliver cutting-edge modelling and visualisation projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in 3D modelling and scripting, as well as experience in infrastructure or land use planning.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and maintaining LGIP future growth scenarios, including urban growth modelling, mapping and analysis.
  • Contributing 3D urban modelling expertise to support the Urban Twin, including City Engine rule development and GIS integration.
  • Working on key projects relating to the PUG model, including draft land use planning and other related planning scenarios.
  • Using sound corporate project methodology to assist with various projects.
  • Creating, reviewing and making expert recommendations for multiple scenarios to support strategic planning and project proposals.
  • Simulating scenarios within 3D environments to support decision making.
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders and translating them to 3D planning solutions.
  • Ensuring 3D plans comply with city standards, safety regulations and design guidelines.
  • Identifying and making recommendations for improvements in 3D planning processes, tools and methodologies.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to think creatively and work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Experience in 3D modelling and scripting for planning.
  • Ideal experience in infrastructure or land use planning in the development industry or local government.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships as part of a high-performing team.
  • Ability to prioritise problems, think laterally, gather and analyse information to identify symptoms and causes, and engage the right people to reach better outcomes.
  • Naturally innovative and willing to strive for improvement in the use of technology solutions.
