The Role

A strategic business data consultant will play a key role in helping to bring relevant stakeholder expertise to bear to source, map and land the required data for the ANZ Markets Risk, Finance and Risk Metrics platforms.

This role supports the Suncorp Bank which is part of the ANZ Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse, interpret and translate risk related requirements into clear data requirement specifications.
  • Engage with stakeholder groups to understand both stated and unstated needs, including facilitation of sessions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Work across collaborative teams to solve business, technology and data problems.
  • Ensure that data is managed in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for the delivery team, including the Data Catalogue, Interface Agreements, User Stories, etc.
  • Provide functional consultancy to the team and other delivery partners to ensure solutions conform to requirements.
  • Understand data models and data management processes to ensure quality data delivery outcomes.
  • Support the management of project/delivery related risks and regulatory/legal requirements.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficiency in data tools for analysis, manipulation and presentation (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, QlikView / Qliksense, Hive, Impala, Power BI, Excel).
  • Strong data design skills and understanding of relational and reporting schemas.
  • Knowledge of SunCorp Bank data repositories and standards (desired).
  • Knowledge of ANZ data repositories and standards.
  • Ability to translate quantitative & qualitative information and relay insights through narratives & visual means.
  • Able to define, plan and execute testing of data.
  • Proven ability to work with large data sets.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to all stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying, analysing and resolving data quality issues.
  • Good data visualisation skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus benefits including access to health and wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ.
