Job Opportunity

The Child and Parenting Support Facilitator will work collaboratively with families having children aged 0-12, with the possibility of supporting families with children up to 18 years old.

  • Delivering evidence-based parenting education and skills groups for children in schools and community settings, as well as planning and conducting supported playgroups within targeted community areas.

We are seeking an experienced professional who can establish strong relationships with families based on honesty, transparency, cooperation, strengths, trust, professionalism, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with internal and external services.
  • Providing evidence-based parenting education and skills groups, and supported playgroups that cater to the diverse needs of families.
  • Enhancing family support by building capacity and partnerships with local service providers.
  • Designing and implementing programs that promote social justice and empower individuals to build their resilience and find their place in the community.
Requirements

A tertiary qualification in Children's Services, Community Services or a related field is essential.

Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children and their parents/carers is required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for developing rapport and effectively communicating with children and their parents/carers.

Maintenance of confidentiality and accountability, including case records, team and organisational discussions, is expected.
