The Strategic Customer Engagements Director is accountable for driving revenue growth and profitability through larger strategic transactions. This involves developing and executing end-to-end deal strategies, leading complex negotiations, and ensuring successful outcomes.
- Drive large and complex deals: validate and engage on opportunities where $5M+ NNACV value is expected, tracking progression, and escalating risks/needs to senior leaders as needed.
- Champion collaborative GTM activities for Strategic Accounts, including account planning sessions, strategic pursuits, WIN Forums, review cadences, or other activities.
- Lead big deal thinking and best practice sharing across the Strategic Engagements team (deal structures, operational opportunities, references, and content on attractive themes).
- Partner with the Account Executive to serve as a primary point of contact for the Customer from deal qualification through close.
- Represent ServiceNow in senior customer-facing roles as sponsor, strategist, and negotiator.
This role drives key business objectives by:
- Fostering strong relationships with senior client executives.
- Identifying and pursuing high-value opportunities.
- Developing and implementing effective deal strategies.
- Ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of emerging trends in IT and Business.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 12+ years of experience in the software industry.
- 7+ years of direct sales experience into Enterprise accounts, preferably selling SaaS, with progressive client-facing responsibilities.
- 5+ years of selling experience within the ANZ market.
- 2+ years of Large Deal or Corporate Strategy/Business Development experience supporting complex transactions.
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Organizational and analytical skills.
- International work experience.
The success of this role will be measured by:
- Closed deals worth $5M+.
- Customer Feedback and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
This role contributes to continuous improvement efforts for the Strategic Engagements team and participates in ServiceNow's overall transformation to establish the best Enterprise salesforce in the industry.
