Job Overview

Cook Shire Council seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact municipal infrastructure projects.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of Australia's largest shire by land area, surrounded by rich cultural heritage and spectacular natural beauty.

The successful candidate will manage the full project lifecycle from scoping and planning to delivery and evaluation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and community satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will provide technical, commercial, and contractual expertise while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of infrastructure in Cook Shire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage civil infrastructure projects across the Shire.
  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and quality outcomes.
  • Provide strong contract administration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare project documentation, risk assessments, and reports.
  • Mentor and lead a small project team to deliver outstanding results.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, safety, and Council standards.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management and/or Civil Engineering.
  • Proven senior-level project delivery experience.
  • Strong contract management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in collaborative team environments.
  • Current QLD C Class Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
