**About The Role**
As the **Strategic Assets Manager**, reporting directly to the Senior Manager Asset Strategy and Delivery, you will have responsibility for managing the successful delivery of strategic asset outcomes including the asset management framework and systems, project management office and catchment and waterways management.

This is a leadership position responsible for creating and maintaining a strong organisational culture that is focused on achieving positive outcomes for both Council and the community.

You will be accountable for maximising the teams capacity to develop and meet the needs of the Asset Management Strategy and planning requirements for catchments and waterways and so calls for a leader with highly developed skills in thinking strategically, lateral problem solving and sound stakeholder management to successfully facilitate positive outcomes.

This position will be responsible for budget and resourcing and have personal accountability for achieving the business unit outcomes.

**About You**
This is a significant role in terms of leadership and responsibility in one of Sydney’s most high profile and desirable Local Government Organisations. It brings with it the opportunity to join a best-in-class Infrastructure and Operations team, all working together for the betterment of the community and those around them.

**Position outcomes and accountabilities**
- Manage the Strategic Assets and waterways and catchments to deliver exceptional services and projects. This includes financial management and budget control, setting of KPIs and monitoring of processes, procurement of external services as well as the development of business plans, service plans and other business planning requirements.
- Collaborate and contribute to the Leadership team within the Infrastructure & Operations Directorate and across Council
- Manage the Asset Strategy & Delivery business unit to deliver exceptional services and projects including advanced financial management and budget control
- Build a high-performing team by providing coaching, learning and development opportunities and creating an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

It is expected that you will bring with you experience in infrastructure asset management across asset classes which may include buildings, open space, stormwater and transport. Experience in Catchment and Waterways management eg Flood Plain Management, stormwater management and catchment management whilst not essential would be looked upon favourably.

It is further expected that you will hold a degree qualification in relevant project management, engineering, construction or an equivalent discipline.
