Carer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Carer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to carers across Australia.

Job Description:

As a Carer Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to connect with carers, conduct assessments, and create personalized plans to address their needs and aspirations. You will work closely with the team to create a safe and supportive environment for carers to share their experiences and build connections.

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Coordinating support sessions for carers both online and face-to-face
  • Facilitating peer-to-peer support groups, both in-person and online
  • Identifying opportunities to bring carers together to share experiences and build connections
  • Representing our organization at community events and expos to promote our support services
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience as a case worker, case manager, support coordinator, or social worker
  • A passion for supporting carers and enhancing their quality of life
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for carers
  • Ability to develop initial service plans in collaboration with carers, medical professionals, and other relevant stakeholders
