Role Overview

This part-time permanent opportunity is located in Seven Hills and involves providing education, training, and individual support to families and carers of people with mental illness. The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of families and carers, providing 1 to 1 emotional support, linking carers and families to services, supports, education, and support groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and training to carers of people with mental illness.
  • Develop individual support plans with carers, focusing on supporting the carer to reach their goals.
  • Facilitate support groups for families and carers.
  • Provide individualised psychosocial support to people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, or equivalent and relevant to the field of work.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in your field of expertise.
  • Lived experience as a carer of someone with mental health.
  • Understanding of issues and concerns affecting mental health consumers, with a working knowledge of and commitment to consumers' rights and responsibilities.
