About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Media and Public Relations Specialist to join our team at Illawarra Mercury. As a key member of our Advancement and Communications Division, you will play a pivotal role in building trust, connection and pride in UOW.

The Media & Public Relations Unit is at the heart of amplifying UOW's reputation by connecting journalists with world-class experts, generating influential coverage, and showcasing the university's contributions to society.

As a Media and Public Relations Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive proactive media campaigns that amplify UOW's leadership, innovation and societal impact.
  • Build thought leadership opportunities for our academics and executives across national and international platforms.
  • Shape and pitch compelling stories that resonate with journalists and diverse audiences.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to spokespeople, helping them shine in high-profile settings.
