Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow. As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable and efficient designs that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing project teams and the delivery of projects to budget, time, and quality for various clients.
  • Providing technical/design expertise and assisting in the management of engineering and support staff.
  • Supporting the development of GHD's civil consultancy both locally and nationally.
  • Business Development, Fee Proposal writing, and Fee Estimates.
  • Mentoring younger staff to assist in their development and delivery of solutions for clients.
  • Designing and documenting Civil Engineering Infrastructure, including Road Design, Earthworks, and Storm Water Drainage.
  • Managing project development, design, and construction, ensuring minimization of construction risks.
  • Conducting Safety In Design reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Managing job delivery on time and within budget, adhering to GHD QA systems and processes.
  • Collaborating with clients and team members to provide high-quality engineering consultancy services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) or the ability to obtain within 12 months of joining.
  • A passion for design documentation, assessment, and analysis of technical data.
  • Excellent project management skills and the willingness to mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written (including report writing).
  • Demonstrated professional judgment and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs, and mark-ups.
  • Experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects from small to medium-sized projects.
  • Knowledge of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modeling, and construction.
