About the Opportunity:

Public Sector People is seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure Management Specialist to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of Council's civil assets, including roads, street furniture, stormwater pits, creeks, and other infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Planning and Management: Prepare and review annual budgets in consultation with the Manager, Community, Staff, and Council to ensure alignment with Council's Management Plan, Policies, Resolutions, and Operating Plans and Budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and lead supervisors and operational teams in the completion of their duties, optimizing resource utilization for delivery of work programs and projects.
  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with staff through regular tool box and other team meetings, ensuring a minimum of 12 meetings within a calendar year.
  • Status Reporting: Ensure monthly status reports are prepared in relation to performance of programs and allocated program budget.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical and specialist skills for the delivery of work projects.
  • Plant and Machinery Coordination: Ensure the efficient coordination and assessment of suitable plant and machinery for the section, providing recommendations for use, care, management, replacement, and acquisition.
  • Project Management: Apply project management principles for the deployment of work programs for outdoor staff and contractors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify continuous improvement and innovative solutions for improving processes to increase productivity and efficiency within the unit.
  • Contractor Coordination: Coordinate the deployment and efficient utilization and placement of contractors to complete civil work programs.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure that contractors and other service providers comply with Service Level Agreements and contracts.
  • Project Estimation and Delivery: Prepare cost estimates, list, implement, and deliver projects in the works improvement program.

Requirements and Benefits:

This position requires excellent leadership and management skills, as well as strong technical expertise in civil asset management. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Council's Management Plan, Policies, Resolutions, and Operating Plans and Budgets.

The salary for this position is approximately $120,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
