Project Engineer Role

As a key member of our high-performing team, you will play a vital role in delivering one of Australia's most significant infrastructure upgrades. This project is part of a national fibre upgrade that will enhance digital connectivity for communities across the country.

You will support the Project Manager and broader team by managing work packages and ensuring delivery meets scope, quality, and expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and scheduling construction activities
  • Managing the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Coordinating traffic management and council approvals
  • Overseeing defect closure and site restoration
  • Supporting procurement and financial reconciliation
  • Participating in safety inspections and toolbox talks
  • Driving continuous improvement through lessons learnt workshops

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Civil Engineering Degree or Construction Management (with relevant experience also considered)
  • Relevant experience in telecommunications or civil construction (Telco experience; Optus, Telstra, NBN highly regarded)
  • Exposure to field operations and project coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and MS Project
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
