About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mining Planner to join our team at BHP's Mt Arthur Mine Site in the Hunter Valley Region.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead mine planning efforts and contribute to the success of our operations. As a Lead Mining Planner, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient designs, schedules, and project management to support our operational and functional teams.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective mine plans that meet safety and production requirements.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Communicate mine planning and project outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pursue continuous improvement opportunities throughout your day-to-day work.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong working knowledge and/or experience base across the following aspects:

  • A high level of competence in mining software applications used for planning and scheduling, including Deswik and/or Vulcan (CAD software), SPRY (or equivalent) scheduling software.
  • Experience in open-cut mining, with drill and blast, mine planning and scheduling exposure.
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel & Word.
