About Cowal Mine

Cowal Mine is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to work at Cowal Mine, providing technical support & supervision during all project phases to ensure that project designs meet operational requirements and specified engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with tenders and procurement and managing internal and external project stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Initiating, planning, resource and project manage all facets of the various underground mine infrastructure projects
  • Ensuring that the Engineering team generates and delivers Infrastructure designs and schedules
  • Providing technical guidance and actively improving performance and methodology and lead collaborative engagement with operations, project, and contractor teams
  • Administer site-based contracts as required to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved
  • Ensure work undertaken complies with scope and meets operational requirements
  • Prepare schedules for design work and obtaining approvals for flow sheets and drawings
  • Obtain appropriate approvals of and documenting calculations, specifications, variations etc
  • Supervise work and ensuring it meets quality, cost, and time constraints
  • Monitor progress and identifying potential problems in respect of budgets, schedules, engineering standards
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, operations, service providers and other contractors on an ongoing basis
  • Contributing to the improvement of safety, production, and cost performance
  • Maintaining appropriate records to a high level and preparing and distributing reports to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Meeting legislative, regulatory, and Evolution policy requirements while aligning with business objectives
  • Commitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and Project Management
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Project Engineering position for mining or heavy industry
  • Effective communicator across all levels of the business including operators, technical personnel, and other professionals
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to processes, along with the ability to formulate robust project plans and schedules
  • Positive attitude and collaborative team spirit are key to being successful in this position
  • High level of Planning, organising and prioritising to deliver results
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond efficiently to any setbacks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, Deswik or similar project planning software
