Job Role:

The Clinical Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in the professional advancement of caregivers at St John of God Hospital. Collaborating with the Learning and Development Coordinator, department managers, and caregivers, they are responsible for delivering, implementing, assessing, and evaluating Learning and Development programs that adhere to best practice standards to achieve excellence in service.

About the Position:
  • Support and provide guidance to caregivers (including graduates) to meet individual learning and development goals and achieve departmental objectives.
  • In collaboration with the caregiver's manager, support them to address learning gaps, and meet performance development goals and plans.
  • Collaborates with Department Managers, other learning and development caregivers and relevant key stakeholders to support learning and development activities locally.
  • Supports an interprofessional approach to the delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning for all caregivers, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment.
  • In collaboration with the L&D Coordinator and other key stakeholders, support the planning, onboarding, delivery and evaluation of the Pathways to Practice Graduate Programs and Pathway to Speciality Programs.
  • In collaboration with the L&D Coordinator support the planning and supervision of student placements and support evaluation activities (undergraduate and postgraduate) as directed.

Requirements:
  • Registration as a Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development record or Professional Practice Portfolio
  • Experience in small group teaching and group presentations
  • Ability to motivate, support and encourage caregivers to further develop professionally
