Empowering Children and Families

We are seeking a skilled Play Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our team, you will provide individual and family-based play therapy and counselling to support the emotional, behavioural and mental health needs of children and young people.

  • Job Description:
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families in a collaborative and empathetic manner.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, developing individualized treatment plans and goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and client records in accordance with professional standards.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development to ensure best practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications and registration as a Mental Health Social Worker, Psychologist or other qualification that allows for Medicare Rebates.
  • Membership with the relevant professional association.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, neurodiversity (including Autism, ADHD and PDA), play therapy and family systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to organize a caseload, attract referrals and fill your calendar.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
