Role Overview:

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Financial Capability Practice Lead to become part of our Food and Financial Assistance (FFA) Leadership Team. This position involves collaborating with managers and senior personnel across various FFA teams to promote growth and implement best practices in financial capability initiatives. You will be responsible for developing practice guidelines, significantly contributing to program design and evaluation, and establishing connections with peak bodies and partner organizations. Your focus will be on coaching, mentoring, and supervising frontline staff while maintaining a small caseload of clients. Depending on operational needs, you may also have line management responsibilities for a select group of staff. Working closely with colleagues in the FFA Leadership Team, you will help cultivate a strong team culture and advance our financial capability efforts in alignment with Anglicare's vision, values, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and expand our understanding of best practices in financial capability.
  • Engage with peak bodies, funding organizations, and service providers to amplify Anglicare's role in sector learning and initiatives, fostering a positive reputation and ensuring our contributions are recognized.
  • Lead and participate in projects that align with Anglicare's strategic objectives in financial capability, in close collaboration with the Head of FFA and Senior Program Managers.
  • Oversee the creation and revision of practice guides, procedures, and resources related to financial capability.
  • Contribute to program design, evaluation, and impact measurement initiatives, particularly emphasizing client and community co-design.
  • Collaborate with Senior Program Managers to ensure consistency across FFA teams through professional supervision, coaching, and involvement in client interactions.
  • Support caseworkers by providing training, guidance, and mentoring, especially for complex and high-need clients.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload of community-based financial capability clients.

Candidate Profile:

  • Alignment with Anglicare's vision, mission, and values.
  • Degree in Social Work and accredited membership with AASW or a similar organization.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a senior social work or case management role, demonstrating leadership and mentoring capabilities while achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable clients.
  • Extensive experience (4+ years) in financial capability or a closely related field, including work with clients in community settings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and engage positively with colleagues, clients, and the community.
  • Expertise in the theory and practice of financial capability and short to medium-term casework.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable: experience in community engagement and/or delivering services in collaboration with churches.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
