Position Summary
Reporting directly to an exceptional Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will oversee a small yet effective team tasked with fulfilling all month-end obligations for a multifaceted national organization. Your focus will be on enhancing efficiency, precision, and assurance in monthly reporting, systems, and processes.

You will spearhead the preparation of month-end financial reports and oversee financial reporting across various business units. Each month, you will facilitate the month-end close process, conduct Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensure accurate journal entries, and provide insightful analysis and commentary on the monthly outcomes of your business unit.

Your comprehensive accounting knowledge will guarantee adherence to accounting standards and compliance with regulations, ensuring timely and precise reporting while collaborating with stakeholders as the subject matter expert for these units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of month-end deliverables
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries, resolutions, and approvals.
  • Oversee compliance with regulations
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of general journal entries for various business units
  • Deliver inventory variance analysis
  • Reconcile Profit & Loss and balance sheet accounts with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Review expense line items to ensure proper accrual and coding
  • Provide analysis and commentary on expenses and performance of legal entities
  • Assist the organization in fulfilling annual audits and external reporting requirements
  • Support Finance team members with special projects
  • Collaborate with Finance Managers to ensure relevant financial information is available to enhance sales and operational efficiencies
  • Ensure correct invoice coding to the general ledger and identify opportunities for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will hold CPA, CA, or CIMA qualifications and possess a strong commitment to accuracy, detail, and efficiency. You will have experience in a complex business environment with a solid understanding of large Profit & Loss statements and have likely worked in a high-volume setting. Experience in leading a small team is highly valued.
