Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Thin Surfacing Operations Manager to lead our Western Australia-based team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

  • Lead and manage the thin surfacing team to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of works.
  • Have a thorough understanding of delivering complex spray seal operations in metropolitan and regional locations.
  • Hold qualifications in civil engineering, business management, or a related field (desirable).
  • Have a proven track record of building relationships with clients, stakeholders, and developing new business opportunities.
  • Have experience leading teams and driving accountability to achieve business outcomes, including safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Be proficient in financial management, including preparing and monitoring operational forecasts and budgets.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality outcomes, focusing on completing projects in full and on time.
  • Have a strong focus on safety and actively participate in Downer's zero-harm initiatives and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the thin surfacing team to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of works.
  2. Develop and implement effective strategies for delivering complex spray seal operations in metropolitan and regional locations.
  3. Ensure that all team members have the necessary qualifications, training, and equipment to perform their roles safely and efficiently.
  4. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and delays.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and optimize project outcomes.
