About the Opportunity

Griffith University is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join its Corporate Services Executive Team. As a key advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of the University.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing revenue generation strategies, managing and controlling the University's financial resources, and providing strategic advice on financial, accounting, taxation, procurement, capital, and operating budgetary/resource allocation matters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and executive leadership, with experience in leading high-performing teams and driving business growth. They will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, and be able to contribute effectively to the strategic direction of the University.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing financial strategies to drive revenue growth and improve financial performance
  • Managing and controlling the University's financial resources, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Providing strategic advice on financial, accounting, taxation, procurement, capital, and operating budgetary/resource allocation matters
  • Leading high-performing teams and driving business growth through effective leadership and management
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the University and driving business excellence

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong track record of success in a similar role. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the University sector and the challenges facing institutions in this space.
