About us: The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is a jurisdiction within the Victorian justice system, providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts. Our Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.
We aim to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community. This role operates within the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT), which provides financial assistance to victims of crime committed in Victoria. VOCAT aims to assist victims of crime in their recovery by providing an empathetic service for those who require financial support as a result of an act of violence.
About the Role- The position operates within a complex, demanding, and sensitive environment that requires sound judgement and effective liaison with stakeholders including the Judiciary, Victoria Police, legal practitioners, various court user groups, and members of the public.
