Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Applications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing effective change management, capacity planning, incident management, risk management, and continuity planning using best practices in systems support and service delivery within the ITIL framework.

You will ensure end-to-end service delivery for enterprise systems within Queensland Health by establishing and maintaining highly effective working relationships with other technical specialists, application specialists, vendors, and end-users.

Additionally, you will continually update and maintain knowledge of specific applications and business technical requirements in the support of enterprise applications.

As part of your role, you will also provide timely application support activity reports to stakeholders and assist in the ongoing development, maintenance, and deployment of application-specific guides, work instructions, and technical documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated ability in developing and promoting ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management.

You should also have demonstrated ability in the provision of high-level specialist advice on, and support for the following technology domains: analysing, providing technical direction, standardisation, integration, professional advice, and support of enterprise ICT services in a large customer-focused organisation.

Furthermore, you must be able to ensure that service delivery meets agreed service levels in a customer-focused ICT/Clinical Business environment.

Your well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills will enable you to negotiate, advise, influence others, and work collaboratively with people to make decisions.

You will also be required to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, other technical specialists, application specialists, vendors, and end-users.
