About Our Mental Health Support Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker.
As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and carers.
Our goal is to empower individuals to take charge of their own health and wellbeing, while also reducing stigma around mental health in the community.
In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to:
- BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS, FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS, PROVIDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND CONNECTING THEM WITH APPROPRIATE RESOURCES.
- DELIVER CULTURALLY SAFE AND HOLISTIC PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING, WHILE ALSO IMPROVING ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
- WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MAINSTREAM HEALTH PROVIDERS TO ENHANCE SERVICE DELIVERY AND OVERALL OUTCOMES.
Your Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- EXPERIENCE IN THE MENTAL HEALTH SECTOR, WITH A RELEVANT QUALIFICATION IN HEALTH, SOCIAL, OR BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCES.
- A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER CULTURES, WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS HIGHLY VALUED.
- SKILLS IN GOAL SETTING AND LINKING CLIENTS TO APPROPRIATE RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES.
- ABILITY TO BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS AND PEERS.
- PROFICIENCY IN MICROSOFT OFFICE AND STRONG ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS.
