About the Role

As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, and communities through education and support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver educational counselling and support services to ensure optimal assistance for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families, and communities.
  • Develop and implement cross-cultural awareness training programs for school staff and broader community members.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and government agencies to enhance educational participation and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Maintain relationships with external sources of information and support services to facilitate access to resources and opportunities.

Requirements

This is an Identified role under Section 7 of the Anti-Discrimination Act. To be eligible, applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Verification of heritage may be required.
