Strategic Policy Advisor

Role OverviewThis role will see you working closely with GWW senior stakeholders, playing a crucial part in shaping GWW's future strategic direction and enterprise priorities.
You will participate in collaborative forums to generate innovative ideas that will shape long-term strategic plans, benefiting our customers, community, and Country.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic advice on urban water planning and policy for greater Melbourne's long-term water security.
- Develop consistent advocacy positions concerning key strategic priorities such as water security, Victorian Housing Statement delivery, Traditional Owner self-determination, integrated water management, and net zero.
- Work across other metropolitan water corporations and Barwon Water to support the objectives of the Managing Director's Accord.
- Progress program of work activities and report to Steering Committees, the executive leadership team, and the Board on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- A self-starter with keen enthusiasm and demonstrated ability to engage, collaborate, influence, and negotiate agreed outcomes through strong coordination.
- Strong critical thinking and experience in driving strategic direction.
- Experience in delivering complex programs of work within an agile and changing environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills to effectively engage key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Experience in a water utility or the public sector will be highly regarded.
