Cyber Security Risk Assessor

A leading Federal Government department seeks a highly skilled Cyber Security Risk Assessor to join its multidisciplinary team. As a key member, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security risks in the ICT environment.

About the Role
  • This is an exciting opportunity within a Federal Government Department
  • The successful candidate will have a 12 month contract with 1 x 12 months of extension options
  • Rewarding hourly rates apply

As a Cyber Security Risk Assessor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the department's ability to mitigate and be resilient to cyber threat activity. You will conduct security risk analysis of internal systems, assess cyber threats, and implement better-practice methodologies and risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough security risk analyses of internal systems, assessing the likelihood and consequence of adverse threat activity
  2. Develop Authority to Operate artefacts and manage security risks and controls uplift activities arising from cyber security risk analysis
  3. Implement effective risk management practices and methodologies
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance or a related field of cyber security
  • Demonstrated experience in producing system-specific security documentation artefacts aligned to the Information Security Manual Suite of documentation
  • CISM, CISSP or other relevant cyber security qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience conducting security risk analysis of ICT systems
