Aps 3 Administration Role Supporting Army Language Training

About the Role

This position is located at Simpson Barracks, Macleod, Victoria. As a key team member at the Defence Command Support Training Centre (DCSTC), you will be responsible for the administration of Army's Languages other than English (LOTE) capability and processes related to Language Training.

You will work within the small Manager Languages Army (ML-A) cell and be a part of the ML-A team. The role involves performing operational, procedural, administrative and business support tasks and maintaining accurate records and files in accordance with relevant Defence work practices, procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various administrative tasks including data collection, consolidation, and record-keeping.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of written submissions, reports, and correspondence.
  • Build and sustain relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate language proficiency testing and language aptitude testing.
  • Support the administration of Army's LO TE Capability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An understanding of the employment of linguists in tactical, strategic, training exercise, and cultural situations.
  • Experience or knowledge of language training systems.
  • High-level administrative skills, sound knowledge of Defence information management systems.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with Army members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • High-level organisational skills to manage competing priorities and demands.
  • The ability to remain flexible, agile, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
