Perioperative Services Coordinator

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking a skilled Floor Coordinator to join our Perioperative Services unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will work as part of the senior staff team to meet departmental objectives and develop the work of the theatre service. Key responsibilities include ensuring appropriate staff allocations and skill mix, coordinating clinical activity, and providing clinical expertise and support to staff.
This role requires a strong clinical background, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Nursing. The ideal candidate will possess advanced communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to maintaining and raising the clinical standard of care.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure appropriate staff allocations and skill mix to reflect the changing workload and meet patient needs.
- Coordinate all clinical activity to maximize efficiency and ensure staff meal breaks and reliefs are arranged in a timely manner.
- Act as a clinical expert within the area of work, demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.
- Liaise and cooperate with the wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.
- Work collaboratively with other team leaders in the theatre department to provide support in all clinical areas as necessary.
- Maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through the process of audit and implement changes in best practice.
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency with a current licence to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Nursing.
- Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively.
