Floor Coordinator

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking a skilled Floor Coordinator to join our Perioperative Services team. As a key member of our senior staff team, you will play a crucial role in meeting departmental objectives and developing the work of the theatre service.

Key Responsibilities- Ensure appropriate staff allocations and skill mix to reflect the changing workload and meet patient needs.
- Coordinate all clinical activity to maximize efficiency and ensure staff meal breaks and reliefs are arranged in a timely manner.
- Act as a clinical expert within the area of work, demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.
- Liaise and cooperate with the wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.
- Work collaboratively with other team leaders in the theatre department in the daily running and organization of theatre activity and provide support in all clinical areas as necessary.
- Maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through the process of audit and implement changes in best practice.
- Identify and communicate quality improvement ideas to senior staff to enhance patient care.
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Nursing.
- Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively.
