About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced acute care setting. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering patient-centred, short-term rehabilitation interventions, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital length of stay.

Key responsibilities include leading complex discharge planning using advanced clinical reasoning and standardized assessments to support optimal patient outcomes, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement evidence-based treatment plans, driving quality improvement initiatives, and providing expert clinical advice and leadership across the Occupational Therapy department.

Requirements
  • You are a qualified and AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with current Class C Driver's License.
  • You bring extensive post-graduate experience in acute and sub-acute hospital settings, managing complex care needs through advanced rehabilitation approaches.
  • You are confident in applying clinical reasoning and exercising sound professional judgement in both routine and complex discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You are a clear and effective communicator, skilled in supervision and leadership, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and students.
  • You are committed to continuous service improvement and innovation, with experience leading quality initiatives, research projects, and contributing to service development.
