Telecommunications Interception Specialist

This role involves driving and managing projects that provide capabilities to capture and deliver lawful telecommunications interception (TI) and telecommunications data product in accordance with legislative requirements, standards, and specifications.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to liaise with Carrier/Carriage Service Providers (C/CSPs), Designated Communications Providers (DCPs), Interception Agencies (agencies), and communications equipment and software vendors, both domestic and international.
The position may attract an additional technical skills allowance of up to 10% of base salary.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategic or interim lawful interception and telecommunications data capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership for the development of TI and data request systems.
- Liaise with domestic and international:
- C/CSPs and DCPs.
- Interception and data request agencies.
- Commercial providers.
- Government and internal stakeholders.
- Regularly test lawful interception and delivery systems, performing protocol analysis and network-level problem-solving.
- Provide level 1 and 2 support for TI connections, collection, product assurance systems, telecommunications data requests, and CLOUD Act data.
- Contribute to the provision of technical telecommunications SME advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in telecommunications technologies.
- Experience with carrier networks and/or interception and retained telecommunications data systems.
- System integration and project delivery experience.
- Experience in NiFi and cloud technologies.
- Understanding of IP/IMS Networks, contemporary mobile network architecture, NFV/virtualisation/containerisation, and Carrier-level VoIP implementations.
