What We're Looking For: Icon Water is looking for a Senior Telecommunications Specialist to join the Infrastructure Reliability & Performance Branch within the Infrastructure Services Group. The Branch is committed to driving operational excellence and sustainable outcomes through continuous asset health management, Supply Chain Management, Fleet and Facility Management and Process Optimisation.

This role has primary responsibility for leading a small team in the end-to-end engineering, administration, and maintenance of Icon Water's Digital Data Radio Network (DDRN) and related infrastructure. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will oversee design, implementation, and compliance, support system upgrades, and provide advanced technical support to the SCADA team. You are also responsible for upholding safety, environmental, and regulatory standards under Icon Water's Integrated Management System.

About this role: Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Icon Water's Trio Digital Data Radio Network (DDRN) and associated radio communications infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and maintain remote, repeater, and gateways radio communications sites to support the backhaul of SCADA data.
• Oversee the end-to-end engineering, administration, and performance of the DDRN to ensure high availability and security. Including ensuring compliance with ACMA licensing and regulatory standards across all radio communications assets.

Who we are looking for: We're seeking a dedicated individual who has demonstrated expertise with over 10 years of experience in Radio Communications, Electronics, Telecommunications, or closely related technical disciplines. You will need a sound knowledge and experience in developing technical documentation and drawings using applications such as Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent

You will also need to have:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving complex system and RF-related faults.
• Experienced in using RF propagation and modelling tools such as EDX, Pathloss, or equivalent software for radio network planning and analysis.
• ACMA Open Cabling registration with Coaxial and Structured endorsements with experience in terminating FSJ4-50, RG-213, RG-223, and RG-58 Cables.
• Experience in the construction industry and relevant certifications such as General Induction Card (White Card), Statement of attainment in Asbestos Awareness, Working Safely with Asbestos containing materials, and Crystalline Silica Exposure.
• Experience with working on Telecommunications Towers up to 50 Meters with relevant qualifications such as Working at heights, Telecommunications Tower Rescue, Enter and Work in Confined spaces.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with IP networking.
• Extensive experience with Trio Telemetry radio technologies by Schneider Electric, specifically the Q-series and JR-series generations.
