About the Role

The Jira Design team is responsible for transforming Jira into a modern work management solution for every team. As a Lead Product Designer, you will play a key role in delivering top-notch experiences by mentoring our design team, leading strategic design initiatives, and connecting multiple projects to a cohesive vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver end-to-end product experiences that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Mentor and guide a team of designers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and research, to drive design decisions and ensure a user-centered approach.
  • Conduct customer research and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure that our products meet the needs of our customers.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and standards to ensure consistency across our products.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our products.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional product design experience, with a strong background in visual, UX, and conceptual design.
  • Experience designing complex or enterprise-level software.
  • Proven ability to drive a user-centered design process and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting and applying customer research, including design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modeling.
  • A collaborative approach to building capabilities in tight partnership with customers.
  • Ability to define projects and measures of success, test assumptions and outcomes, and incorporate feedback.
  • Experience improving process and methodology to increase product quality, team velocity, and customer empathy.
