Job Overview

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Producing high-quality news content across multiple formats, including written and social-first platforms;
  • Collaborating with the editorial team to brainstorm and execute content ideas that align with our brand tone;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of news trends and online conversations to identify relevant topics for our audience;
  • Managing and growing our social media presence through engaging content and effective community management;
  • Creating eye-catching social media assets using Canva and/or Photoshop;
  • Conducting research and interviews as needed to provide depth and accuracy in reporting;
  • Working independently while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record of experience in a digital newsroom, focusing on news coverage;
  • Proficiency in social media management across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube;
  • A strong understanding of the interests and concerns of young Australians;
  • An ability to engage with online conversations and trends effectively;
  • A Bachelor's degree in media, communications, journalism, or design (although not mandatory).
