Role Overview

The Royal Melbourne Hospital seeks a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join their Youth Mood Clinic (YMC) team.

This position requires expertise in clinical care and coordination for young people aged 12-25 with severe mood disorders, bipolar disorder without psychotic features, and complex co-morbidities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans aligned with best practice standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, client-focused care that meets PYMHWS values and expectations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, young people, families, and carers to provide integrated care for dual diagnosis presentations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and implement adjustments as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Eligible disciplines: Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) Grade 3, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, and Psychologist Grade 2.
  • Relevant registration and qualifications are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical practice in the mental health field with young people is necessary.
