About the Role

The Youth Mental Health Specialist supports young people aged 12–25 with severe mood disorders, bipolar disorder without psychotic features, and complex co-morbidities such as OCD and severe anxiety disorders.

  • Complete timely mental health assessments, treatment plans, crisis interventions, and clinical documentation in line with best practice standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, client-focused care aligned with PYMHWS values.
  • Provide integrated care for dual diagnosis presentations.
  • Collaborate with young people, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure care is evidence-based, inclusive, and culturally appropriate for diverse communities.
  • Liaise and partner with external services including AOD, Youth Justice, and primary care.
