Aboriginal Cancer Care Coordinator - Project Officer

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the Cancer Care Coordinator to develop and implement an Aboriginal Cancer Care Model of Care toolkit. The toolkit must be culturally sensitive, practical, and responsive to community needs.

The successful candidate will contribute to service improvement by mapping pathways, strengthening collaboration between health providers and Aboriginal communities, and identifying strategies that reduce barriers to care.

This position involves project planning, resource development, and system-level improvements to ensure Aboriginal patients and families are cared for in ways that respect culture and community.

  • Support the Cancer Care Coordinator in designing and implementing the Aboriginal Cancer Care Model of Care toolkit.
  • Undertake project planning, coordination, and reporting to support service development.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to identify gaps and co-design solutions.
  • Strengthen partnerships to improve integration of culturally safe cancer care services.
  • Contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement of cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting project coordination, health program planning, or service development.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, social science, or community service.
