Job Overview
Supporting Cancer Care for Aboriginal PatientsThe role involves working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver a model of care that is culturally safe, practical, and responsive to community needs.
This position requires strong communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills, as well as demonstrated experience in supporting project coordination, health program planning, or service development.
About the Role- Design and implement an Aboriginal Cancer Care Model of Care toolkit.
- Undertake project planning, coordination, and reporting to support service development.
- Collaborate with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to identify gaps and co-design solutions.
- Strengthen partnerships to improve integration of culturally safe cancer care services.
The ideal candidate will have a cultural connection to Tamworth and the surrounding Aboriginal community, knowledge of Aboriginal health services, and relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, social science, or community service.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual who can contribute to improving cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.
Key Requirements- Ability to provide advice and resources for staff to maximise the effective use of the Model of Care toolkit in practice, education, and service delivery.
- Knowledge of barriers Aboriginal people may face when accessing care and ability to develop strategies to address these.
