Long-Term Planning Engineer Role

The Long-Term Planning Engineer is a critical role that requires technical expertise in designing and scheduling medium to long-term mine planning for multiple underground operations.

This position demands a high level of autonomy, drive, and safety consciousness, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective underground design and evaluation strategies, adhering to planning policies and legislative requirements.
  • Lead the development of medium- and long-term designs and schedules, including capital planning for exploration, ventilation, dewatering, and backfill.
  • Collaborate on mining technical projects at various stages of development, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of plans.
  • Foster strong relationships with operational personnel to facilitate support to departments.
  • Establish and maintain adherence to procedures and processes to ensure accurate, detailed, and timely delivery of mining plans.
  • Engage external consultants for specialist technical projects, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor junior mining engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct thorough economic analyses for underground and technical projects, providing recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • A self-motivated, driven, and safety-conscious individual who is willing to share knowledge with others.
  • Proven substantial underground engineering experience, with previous knowledge of open pit mining highly regarded.
  • Understanding of mining and environmental approvals.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in mining software such as Deswik, Xeras, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to grow and develop within the organization.
